ITEM DETAILS
PAIR KASHMIR papier-mâché VASES
Kashmir's papier-mâché tradition, particularly the creation of vases, originated in the 14th century with the arrival of Mir Sayyid Ali Hamadani from Persia. He introduced skilled artisans and the craft to the region, which was then known as the art of papier-mâché. This tradition flourished, and the craft, including the making of vases, became a hallmark of Kashmiri culture.
